RICMAS, founded in 1983 started off as a supplier for electrical goods and services in Malaysia. With strong ties to consultants and large buildings inclusive of hotels, we get into the commercial coffee machine business in the early 1990's.
We took up the agency for WMF COFFEE MACHINES and started the coffee business with very reputable Hotel Chains like Shangri-La, HYATT and Sheraton. At that time we imported coffee from Illycafe Switzerland.
We did spread our wings into West Malaysia Kuala Lumpur and expanded our commercial coffee equipment as well as coffee business.
We started entering the Singapore market and set-up RICMAS Singapore. The Singapore office acts as regional office as well as local distributor. The early signs of the regional financial trouble made us decide to enter the retail business as a back-up during hard times.
In 1996 we took-up the distributorship for Jura IMPRESSA Switzerland in South East Asia. From a very tuff beginning to find a market share, we have managed to be number one in Singapore today. We are represented in all prestigious Department Stores like C.K. Tang, Takashimaya, Robinson and more.
After a recovery from the regional financial crisis we operated in the region with dealers in all major countries in South East Asia. At that point of time, it did make sense to centralize the business to gain a healthy growth again.
Realizing the problematic of operation with dealers, we changed our strategy and started to set-up our own organization in Thailand with “RICMAS (Thailand) Co. Ltd.” in 2005. Soon we have been represented in all major Department Stores in Bangkok.
We followed with our own Company again in Malaysia “RICMAS Services (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd.” who acts as sole importer into Malaysia and handles the local Dealers as well as their own customers.
With the set-up of our own organizations we shall completely run the regional companies on their own with their own importation of goods and providing service. Singapore shall act as a regional support & service center only.
Our aim is to extend the training quality not only to our own company, but to our customers as well. Extended showrooms and training centers shall serve the customers to understand our product better.

With the emerging markets in South East Asia it makes sense to operate locally and and not regionally. The regional approach of the business shall be more in maintaining a philosophy and not so much in the handling of goods & services. Service is a local approach to satisfy the customer next door.

We do not manufacture Coffee Machines, we also do not roast coffee. We believe there are companies in this world who are specialized in this skill for many decades, some are doing it since almost 200 years. Since 1931, the Swiss company JURA Elektroapparate AG has been developing innovative high-end household appliances.As a pioneer in the field of automatic espresso /coffee machines.
JURA has been a main contributor to the household appliance sector since the middle of the 1980s. Now, the company uses its experience and know-how for the development of semi-professional appliances for the office and foodservice sector.
The traditional Swiss brand has now become a global player. The main office of the company is located in Niederbuchsiten, Switzerland. In many parts of the world the company is entering the market closely cooperating with distributors.
